The bass is fitted out with Hipshot tuners (including an extender key), a Leo Quan Badass II bridge, DiMarzio UltraJazz pickups and an East J-Retro onboard preamp. The pearloid Warmoth pickguard had to be modified (tediously) due to the enlarged neck pocket, the inclusion of the spoke-wheel nut and to correctly mate with the shape of the standard J-bass control plate.
Looking back, the project required far more time, money and modification effort than I would have ever estimated. Fortunately, I have a truly AMAZING instrument to show for it - can't tell you how many compliments I've received in just the first few days!

I installed Seymour Duncan "Active Soapbars' and an ST-3A three band preamp, with a TK-5 bridge. The sound is incredibly deep, warm, and rich.
After building this bass, I know I can never buy a bass again! The quality of Warmoth parts far and away surpasses anything store bought, at any price point. Plus the opportunity to play something I had a hand in creating makes it even better. Thank you so much for making such high quality pieces!!

Thanks once again to Warmoth for allowing an outlet for my creativity.
